A Gustav variant with Panther engine details and armored hatch.
I used Bryan Krueger tutorial on painting White Camo on a PKA. Thank you Bryan!
It was painted in only two sessions:
- Base Color: Tamiya Dark Grey
- Apply Maskol with a torn bit of sponge
- White Camo: Tamiya Matt White airbrushed in a cloud pattern
- Remove Maskol
- Accentuate worn grey areas with a small piece of sea sponge and the base color Tamiya Dark Grey (the Sponge Technique again!) and a light drybrush with Vallejo German Grey
- Repeatedly apply thinned white paint with a #3 round brush. I prefer Vallejo Ivory and pure White instead of the Tamiya one working with brushes
- Add stains with Raw Umber and Burnt Sienna oils
- Paint joint covers
- Add some mud using Mig pigments Russian Earth and Europe Earth mixed with acrylic resin
- Fill "optics" with clear resin
- Pin down the model on the base and add some snow
- Sit back and relax
Working with acrylics and an hairdryer is incredibly fast!
Snow is a inert charge used in resin casting. It is quite heavy so it doesn't stick to the brush when you wet in with diluted PVA glue. I discovered that you can mix it with MIG Acrylic Resin to obtain a thick, soft looking layer of snow and it can be used to firmly glue your model on the base.

Ma.k Story 2882-2885
The armoured fighting suit of the Shutoral Forces, the PKA G, was created in response to the new weapon of the Mercenary troops, the Super AFS. The Gustav had more strength, mobility and armour than the PKA H and was armed with a visible light laser in the left arm.
In order to cope with the increase in weight, the engine output was increased and the walking system was reinforced. The result made the appearance of the PKA G quite different from the H-series.
Minor alterations to the PK 41 "Hornisse" made it possible to fly using the PKA G in place of the PKA H. The XPK 43, designed specifically for the PKA G took flight at the end of 2885.
